How to pay for the App Store and Apple subscriptions in Kazakhstan
App Store purchases, subscriptions and iCloud storage are paid from your Apple Account. There are two ways to put money there in Kazakhstan, each with its own upsides.
Option 1: a linked bank card
A Kazakhstan bank card can be linked in the account settings - charges go through in tenge as you buy. Convenient, but the card stays linked: subscriptions renew on their own, and an accidental purchase charges the card straight away.
Option 2: balance via a gift card
An Apple Gift Card code adds its face value to the account balance, and purchases are taken from it until it runs out. No bank card needs to be linked.
A balance is a natural spending cap: you cannot spend more than it holds. That is why gift cards are a popular way to fund children’s accounts - and to give as presents instead of cash.
What the balance pays for
- Apps and games in the App Store, including in-app purchases.
- Apple Music, Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade subscriptions.
- Extra iCloud+ storage.
What the balance does not cover
Apple hardware cannot be paid with the account balance - it only works for digital purchases. The balance also cannot be transferred to another person or turned back into money: what is redeemed is spent in the App Store.
Top up in a minute
Cards from 2,000 to 45,000 tenge are sold right here: pay with Visa, Mastercard or SBP, the code arrives by email within a minute, and redeeming follows a short guide.
